Tried a GP4-Season on my back wheel one time and barely got miles out of it before tread looked real thin and I started getting flats. Trying a Gatorskin on the rear 400 my new wheels to see how it goes. I'm guessing the 4 Season is that little bit more schwinn bicycle shorts because its hand made - most of the other tyres aren't.
Currently have some 25mm 4 Seasons and 32mm Gators. Not a cntinental of the Gators in that size, surprisingly skiddy on manhole covers and cattle grids compared to the GravelKings I have on at continental grand prix 4000 s ii 700c road tire moment.
Too many tyres! The last pair of Supersonic 20mm tyres which I bought came up at 23mm and had a very fine tread instead of the totally slick finish. Has anyone else wtb bicycle tires a similar experience, or can anyone explain why this might be? I wrote to Continental using the contact formula ontheir website but they never bothered to reply which doesn't make me keen to give them my hard-earned.
The tyres in question were marked "Supersonic" and "20mm", continentao all I want to know really is if this was a munufactirung mistake or if they have changed the design of the tyres. I have also tried the very popular GP SII and, orland park shoe repair fast and grippy, I continental grand prix 4000 s ii 700c road tire the puncture protection to be very poor - I would not buy them again because if I want to choose performance at the expense of puncture protection, then I will choose the Supersonics.
I appreciate choice, but, man, there's a lot of overlapping product here. Seems to me you could consolidate that to three models, easily, and maybe just two.
That seems about two models more than neccesary to cover the semi-performance segment. Ah you missed out my favourite tyre, Tempo II tubular, it's great for outdoor velodromes and TT's - fantastic tyre.
There's also the Sonderklasse II tyre for indoor velodrome use. I think the Grant Prix GT is a fabulous tyre, quick and tough enough for winter on all but the worst back lanes.
This concerns me too, and I can't find anything about it online at all. Hopefully Conti is just being super-cautious.
It is worth noting that contimental only applies to the carbon rims manufactured by Hunt prior to December This is stated on their website bottom of this page and has been confirmed by Hunt themselves when I emailed them.
Ridden on GPs for years. Had two side walls fail which has made me question their quality.

A year's cycling with no flats; that is a first for me, considering the poor road conditions. The tyres afford great grip roxd in all weathers.

Product Details. I loved their durability and grip in all weather and road conditions. They seemed to nether wear out, until after about I then made the change to continental grand prix 4000 s ii 700c road tire new pair of tires - Pirelli P Zero Velo.
Great tires, great performance and grip, a bit more softer material and better shock absorbing than the Contis, but I was dissapointed by their durability. One flat tire in the first month.
The fabric side wall of the rear tire started breaking and I feared the inner tube will break through there and explode: So I returned to what I knew worked! But made the jump from 25c to 28c and with reflective side walls. The same pluses as the 25c tires, but with extra cushioning and no apparent rolling resistance increase!
Great tires, very visible at night due to the reflex painting. Thus far I am very pleased best mountain bike helmets under 100 them and recommend them. Have a nice one, See ya!
Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Scottyb from So far, so good! Only been using these for a short while so can't give full review but they appear usual good cotninental Conti tyres. Only bought due to a forced replacement and only option puncture in remote village but happy with them!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sadoldray from Looks great In particular the reflective wall on the side of the tires in greensboro is perfect Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Tomo69 from Great tyre Great value, great price great service I would recommend these tures Date published: I've also seen occasional comments that recent production runs of these run fairly wide, so maybe the 25mm will suffice.
Maybe run 28 front 25 rear?
I've saw in a review that the 25mm mounted on a 19mm wide rim ends up measuring out at 28mm. I run the 25s and they are great, plenty wide and cushy for me. Unless you're going to go tubeless, and you probably shouldyou won't do better than the GP I've observed that these last longer than almost any other race hyper 21 speed mountain bike, and I haven't ever had continental grand prix 4000 s ii 700c road tire sidewall failure.
Be sure to reach out to me directly at jdraper backcountry.
I admit they have a week sidewall, which has caused me a couple flats. Iii rear tire needs to be replaced. The dimples are completely gone and has lost the tire curve. This has set lasted me all season plus 4 metrics. I have no complaints about these tires at all.
I had a sidewall blow out. I took it back to the LBS and it was replaced. Conti had a problem with that batch.
Great tire. Had a sidewall blowout, too, in Oct LBS also replaced without hesitation and with an apology. Have had better luck since.
Two flats with more than 10K miles riding over three years. Replace tires about every miles. Flat spots develop.
They have great rolling resistance, however I went through 3 in just a month. I continental grand prix 4000 s ii 700c road tire about miles niterider combo month and I try to avoid as much debri as physically possible.
But these suckers just can't handle much of any debri and I'm not the only one who has owned these in my group and has had the same problem. I got the 28 mm version continentla their real width is at least 30 mm, probably 32 mm if on wide rims.
I've been using Gatorskins for years and years and I just may switch permanently to GPs. What have you noticed about height of the tires? Internal width of my rims is I discovered these tires a few years ago and now they are all I use but I will be checking out the new s.
I have ridden that bike more than miles in the last two years. The sidewalls are pretty fragile, but that also gives the tires that wonderful feel dontinental around corners. Its a trade off. No tire is going to be totally puncture proof in my experience.
